Born in Groningen (Netherlands) in 1967, Erik Janssen has been living in Switzerland since 1991 and in the Lausanne region since 1998.

Erik is often on the lookout for surprising connections bringing together the various elements of the fascinating urban landscape. He plays on the interaction between the environment and the people caught in it, freezing in time situations that are sometimes intriguing, sometimes comical or simply tender, and with an utter respect for the subjects that he has immortalised. His photographs give one's imagination free rein and are always caught from life.
